The Very Hungry Caterpillar

This is one of my favorite cakes ever.  The buttercream went on perfectly.  All around the cake is the food the caterpillar eats in a book.  The junk food is on the top layer, and the fruit is on the backside of the bottom.  Mitchell got his own smash cake which is the apple to the left.

 

Cupcakes

Fire truck themed birthday party.  Hannah had her own chocolate cake at the top, and everyone else got flaming fire cupcakes.

NBA Cake

Two brothers, Kent and Wyatt both turned 12 and love basketball.  I used edible images for the LA Lakers and the OKC Thunder.  My husband had to engineer the goal to get it to stay up and to get the basketball to go through.  He was a big help!

Fortner Wedding

I didn't have my real camera on me at the time, so my phone doesn't show all the details.  The top and third layer have a paisley design imprinted into buttercream, and the other two are just plain.  It was sprayed with a pearlizing spray, but the lighting on this picture does not do it justice and makes it look a bit splotchy.  It was much prettier in person.

Mickey and Friends

My more recent clients have all been under the age of five, and they have the best reactions when they see their cake.  This cake is all chocolate for sweet little Mason.

Thomas the Train

Chugga Chugga Choo! Choo! Making cartoon characters make me nervous since they have a very distinct look and Thomas the Train's high cheek bones are the worst!  He turned out just fine though.

Whinnie the Pooh

Kind of hard to see from this angle, but this is a Whinnie the Pooh book, for yet another baby shower at  church.  So many babies!

Spider Man 2

This cake is for a little Ryan who turned 5 this year.  I really like this cake, but it wasn't until later that I noticed my spider looks more like a tick, haha.

Hot Tub Party

This hot tub cake was for a coworker of mine and a lot of fun to make.  The paneling is textured like real wood.
